THE FABERGÉ EXHIBITION TOUR
"La Visita Del Zar"
Fabergé Easter eggs are considered among
the most the most valuable in the world
of art and jewelry. They are the
creation of jeweler Peter Carl Fabergé
who assumed control of his father´s
business in 1870. He designed jewelry
as works of art combining elements of
various time periods. In 1885 he was
designated "Court Jeweler" for the
imperial family of Russia. The
tradition by which the Czar presented
these Fabergé eggs to his family during
Easter was continued until 1916.
In 1918 the Bolsheviks confiscated the
majority of these easter eggs fabricated
by Carl Fabergé. In the Kremlin museum
you can observe only 10 of these
luxurious eggs, the other 40 were sold
internationally.
